Today’s post is a bit different – no stories on an ancestor. I want to thank those who have stuck with my blog the last two months – I took on a new job and it’s made it difficult to get my weekly posts in. THANK YOU!
I will be speaking at the next monthly meeting for the Will Grundy Counties Genealogical Society. I will be discussing “Scanning Documents and Photographs”. This topic is always a popular one no matter what conference I attend. Our membership meeting and my presentation are at the Coal City Public Library. If you are in the area, stop by and say hello! We will be posting details on our website and Facebook page.
Since time is short and many in my society aren’t sure what scanner to use where and the advantages/disadvantages of each, the presentation will be geared towards that. What file type is best. What resolution is best. Why scanning documents may be treated differently than photographs. Hopefully the audience will find it beneficial! If there is enough interest, maybe we could have a series after our monthly meetings or something along those lines.
Stay tuned for more information on this presentation as well as more stories about my journey to capture and document my family history!
