About Me

I have been researching my ancestry and helping others research since 1994.

I have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University and have 25 years of project management experience – in IT as well as Operations and Finance.  I also help folks get started in Genealogy – how to document, research, and most importantly, get hands on experience.

My engineering degree, coupled with my Project Management/IT/computer related experience has proven quite useful when it comes to the organization and documentation of family facts, photos, and memories.  I started my research because I felt that I had no real family.   Was I wrong!  I have been able to find many ancestors as well as connect with many cousins along the way.

I am a current member of the Illinois State Genealogical Society, the Polish Genealogical Society of America, and the Wisconsin Historical Society, among others.

You can also find me on Twitter or Pinterest.  Stop by and say hello!

    Hi Wendy,

My father was also in the 519th MP Company C 1951-1952. I was very fortunate to have contacted 4 of my fathers service friends (dad died in 1967) and talk at great length with them. I posted pictures that he took of his time he spent in Korea and a few of the stories his war buddies told me. I can’t help but to think that at some point in time our relatives may have crossed paths years ago.
anyway, here is a link to the photos and stories of the 519th MP co C in Korea

  2. Hi, just happened on your latest post, and caught your name on the side. My grandfather removed the “W” from Malinoski because he thought it would make the name easier. More on that family here: http://psalmboxkey.com/a-keepsake-of-family-history-three-stories-retold/a-journey-through-time-family-amp-friends-on-michigans-upper-peninsula/ I’m just writing another post about my father who was an electronic engineer for RCA. I have little about what he did at work. His resume is technical. Also have Morgan on our Scottish side. I have a page on that family history.

Hey there, I gave you an award bouquet on my blog because I really like your writing – no need to follow the rules, unless you really want to. Cheers!

Wow – Thanks! I have actually struggled about the rules – two other generous/nice people have passed on awards, but I’ve hesitated because of the SEO aspect of the whole thing. I do this for both pleasure and business, so I don’t necessarily want to be penalized by Google. The rules have changed and I’m not sure about them, so for now I’m just being a bit cautious.

That is really nice of you and I’m glad that you enjoy my writing. I have an Engineering degree and Engineers aren’t really known for their wonderful writing ability! 🙂

Thanks for taking the time to comment – I truly appreciate it –

  4. Sounds like we starting researching about the same time.
